This project was born for the first time 3 years ago, at the initiative of a former member of Solidari’Terre. It was based on the observation that the commitment of students should not be only financial. The main idea was to help the most underprivileged, and to create a constructive exchange around education.
The courses take place on Mondays and Thursdays between 9am and 12pm, at the prison of Corbas. The help provided concerns women. The students who volunteer are accompanied by François. He is the referent teacher of the courses given at the prison. François is pleasantly surprised by the ease with which EM Lyon students can create a real complicity.
There are a lot of women who have great goals in mind, like getting a degree in literature, or a BTS, and every year some of them can be easily reintegrated thanks to this. So it’s not just about offering French or English classes, but about adapting what we do to what is envisioned beforehand.
Despite the current health situation, students have been able to visit the prison again since the beginning of March.
