In collaboration with SINGA, an association that aims to create links between refugees/migrants and the host society, two projects are proposed to students at emlyon business school: the Singa blabla and the AlloMondo project.
The “Singa blabla” workshops
The “Singa blabla” workshops usually take place every Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm at the Bonnefoi Social Center (Guillotière). During these workshops, students exchange with newcomers around board games, help with CV creation or give French lessons. Students are expected to be adaptable, patient and caring. This experience is as enriching for them as it is for the refugees.
Due to the health crisis, the workshops are now held on Zoom, which makes the partnership with the school difficult. The collaboration is therefore suspended until further notice.
The AlloMondo program
At the same time, the AlloMondo program was created. By filling in their interests and passions, students are put in touch with a newcomer nicknamed their “Buddy”. By phone or video conference, they exchange with him regularly. This sponsorship allows the refugees to be accompanied in their daily difficulties while at the same time allowing them to develop a friendship with the student.
